Description about my song "VOICES OF ÑAWPAK TAYTAKUNA"

The song "Voices of Ñawpak Taytakuna" from my native language of Kichwa means “Voices of Ancestors”.

The song is about my longing for loved ones and the homeland I come from. In my dream I move to Ecuador and wake up in traditional regional clothes. This is an extremely important cultural aspect, because the Kichwa Otavalo regional costume contains very important symbols for us Native Indians and is of great importance for generations. One of them that appeared in my video clip is Chacana, or the "Southern Cross", which is a symbol of the culture of the Native Andean Indians and the former Inca Empire. It is considered the Tree of the World or the Tree of Life. In general, Chacana means different levels of human existence and higher powers. They are, among others:

- Hakaq Pacha - the world beyond,

- Hana Pacha - a world inhabited by higher gods,

- Kay Pacha - the world of our everyday life, and

- Uku Pacha - the world of nature forces and ancestors supporting a human.

The next very important aspect in the song "Voices of Ñawpak Taytakuna" which I showed, it was the character of my grandmother, who was a great authority for me and a person whom I love. In my dream it is shown how much love, attachment and respect were between us and how much she gave me the value and spiritual energy from our indigenous culture, which I care for, cultivate and want to cultivate all the time.
When I get on the road, my sister appears and hands me a Quena. This instrument symbolizes my amulet, which is part of me and should always accompany me in my life. Again I get on my road and suddenly I meet European clothing shops on my way, which are catching my attention, because thanks to Europe I understood how important for me is my native culture, which I did not notice living in my motherland as a child.
In a moment, however, I think back to who I am and understand that my love which I have in my heart, is a wealth of values that my Ancestors left for me, which is why I am proud to be a Native Indian, a descendant of my Ancestors. Wherever in the world life or destiny will take me, my heart, my thoughts and my soul will always remain the same.
Another person who appears in my dream is a shaman who cleans me from bad energy so that my mind and soul remain clear. In my culture of Kichwa Otavalo is an important ritual used by Native Indians of South America.
Other persons that appear in my dream: are my dad and brother who protect me.
The red color of the flag that my dad holds, symbolizes bravery, strength, and in this video clip means protection against bad incidents in life.
The moment when I wake up, I realize that it was only a dream. However, to my surprise, a red Watarina (it is a natural yarn) appears in my long braid, which is part of the memories of my childhood, when my grandma made me a braid that I miss until today.
I wake up and realize how much I miss my motherland, and above all my grandma.

lyrics

Lyrics "Voices of Ñawpak Taytakuna"

I am the son of the Sun,
I have been strengthening my roots.
I am the son of the Sun,
I have come here so the memory of my ancestors will not be lost.
